Mother Teresa

I share the same birthday with Mother Teresa's death day (well, almost - one day difference). Her deeds and strong character guided me throughout my life and taught me to have compassion for people & always strive to be a better person.

It is a shame & ironic & sad that the passing of such a GREAT woman is over-shadowed by the passing of another infamous (for VERY different reasons) woman, Lady Di and the 'mystery' that surrounded her death hogged the press & airways.

Mother Teresa was not a fashion icon, but an icon for compassion & charity. She dedicated her life to helping people & was infamous in her own way. But even a charitable people like her had her detractors ('enemies') - people who did not like HER WAY of doing things, for she is not afraid to speak her mind to get things done!!

Now Mother Teresa is long gone but I wish to remember her for not only her compassion but for her wisdom.

This is a bit of info about her from http://www.great-inspirational-quotes.com/mother-teresa-quotes.html

Born as Agnesa Gonxha Bojaxhiu (August 26, 1910 – September 5, 1997), Mother Teresa was a Roman Catholic nun of Albanian descent. She founded the Missionaries of Charity in India.

Mother Teresa's work among the poverty-stricken of Kolkata (Calcutta) made her one of the most well-known people in the world. She was also sometimes referred to as the "Angel of Mercy" and "Saint of the Gutter" by her supporters.

She's a remarkable woman and her wisdom will speak to your heart.

May you find great inspiration and humility from these Mother Teresa quotes!
  • Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.-- Mother Teresa

  • Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired.-- Mother Teresa
